Responsibilities:
Shibaura Machine Company, America has been an Illinois corporation since 1975, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Shibaura Machine Co., Ltd., a premier manufacturer of a variety of high-quality industrial machinery including die cast machines. The principal responsibility of the Regional Sales Manager is to actively engage in the sales and promotion of the Company’s line of die cast machinery products in a designated territory and throughout North America as required.
Essential Duties:
- Ensure profitable sales and perform all duties related to the position including, but not limited to, the following:
- Sales promotion;
- Sell die cast equipment by establishing contacts and developing relationships with all of the buying influences at respective customers;
- Maintain relationships with customers by providing information and guidance, and researching and recommending new opportunities;
- Research market trends and competitor information;
- Identify and communicate product improvements, or new product applications, by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competition;
- Communicate effectively with inside sales personnel with respect to quotes, new opportunities, and existing business;
- Control prices as approved by COMPANY;
- Credit research and analysis of customers;
- Ensure UCC filing;
- Collection of payments;
- Periodic reports of business status and sales leads;
- Assist traffic department for machine delivery;
- Assist service department for effective service
- Manage sales throughout Territory and North America as required, including close coordination with a network of contract manufacturer representatives and direct sales personnel, to maximize sales and achieve revenue goals while meeting corporate objectives;
- Establish unique goals and strategies for territory, periodically ensuring goals are achieved;
- Propose new sales representation and resources as required to increase sales.
- Coordinate technical sales support to maximize the understanding of our products both within and outside Company;
- Assist in coordination of trades shows from concept through execution including open house programs;
- Forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly incoming orders and sales;
- Participate in regular and periodic sales meetings.
Any other duties and tasks, consistent with your abilities, which may be assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ten (10) years experience in die cast industry sales work;
- Associates Degree in business or technical studies;
- Excellent customer service skills and proven ability in developing and maintaining effective internal and external working relationships;
- Valid passport for travel to and from the U.S., and the willingness to do so;
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license with a driving record free of serious incidents, such as DUI’s;
- Sufficient credit or other financial resources to permit unrestricted domestic and international travel pending expense report reimbursement of legitimate business expenses.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing conditions at a wide variety of customer sites. These facilities may have certain standards, which all vendors must meet in order to gain access, including the requirement for drug, background and health screening. Employment is contingent on employee’s compliance to the standards established by each such facility, as evidenced by the results of the required screening;
- Up to 90% of work time will require travel to industrial sites throughout Employee’s territory, with occasional travel throughout the Americas and overseas.
